HTC Phablet: The Rumors Build for a Samsung Galaxy Note II Competitor

First off, I hate the word Phablet just as much as I hate stupid names like Brangelina and other made up words. Let’s call it a large screen phone because that is what it is first and foremost.

Now that that is over with, more and more rumors are pointing to HTC releasing a Samsung Galaxy Note II competitor for Verizon. After leaks and rumors since the beginning of the summer, Android Community website posted this photo of the alleged large screen phone. While on one hand it could just be the HTC One X+, for the sake of this post, let’s assume that it is indeed a large screen phone.

It looks like the specs indicate that it will have a 5-inch screen and will sport a quad-core version of the S4 chip. I will be the first to admit that I really hope that these rumors are true. I am up for an upgrade soon and depending on what the next Google Nexus phone looks like, this HTC phone could be my next mobile device. Unless of coarse Verizon and Samsung get it together and get the Note II.

Either way, the phablet (sorry it’s just easier to write and it’s late) needs to have a stylus. I am one of those quirky people that is really into styli and frankly, if you have a phone this big, having a stylus makes sense. Verizon has yet to offer a phablet and HTC just might be filling the gap.

So what about you? Any of you have hoping for an HTC phablet? Post your thoughts in the comments below!
