An Android Twitter Client You Can Sink Your Talon’s Into
I’ve finally found a Twitter app for my Nexus 4 that I can sink my Talon’s into. I’ve been using Twitter since 2011 and I’ve had an Android smartphone for just as long. In the past 3 years I’ve tried no less than 7 different major Twitter apps on my phone and I’ve always been dissatisfied. Enter Talon, the brand new Twitter app for Android from developer from Luke Klinker.
Beautiful and Functional
Talon is beautiful and functional at the same time which is a hard thing to find when it comes to Android Twitter clients. It splits the difference between Carbon and TweetCaster, my two previous favorite Twitter apps. My biggest problem with TweetCaster is that it is ugly. The user interface is an odd mix of old iOS and old Android 2.3 Gingerbread design cues. My biggest problem with Carbon is that while beautiful, it isn’t nearly as functional as TweetCaster. Talon addresses both problems.
There are a couple nit-picky things that I think are missing. Mostly the ability to add more than two Twitter accounts and the ability to schedule posts. One hang-up some users might also have with Talon is that it costs $1.99. Let me assuage any concerns you may have. If you are looking for a beautiful AND functional Twitter app for Android, the measly $2 is well worth it. If you’ve got some free Play Store money from Google, even better.
