A Look Into the Past No matter how old you are, we all recall our childhood, taking whatever old bulky video game console we had, and playing our favorite games together with a friend all day and night; even into the next day. It gave all these games we were so used to playing alone a new light. Instead of just sitting at home, silent in the dark, you actually…

Discstorm : Dodgeball with Frisbies

Disc Storm 1
August 28, 2015

Dodge. Dive. Dip. Duck. Dodge. These are the skills every DiscStormer needs to survive in this brave new world of competitive— you know what? Let’s skip the melodrama. DiscStorm (not to be confused with DiscWorld, which is what I expected when I got my review code) is a loving homage to SNES-era player versus player games. Those of us bordering on the incredibly ancient will remember the good old days…

August 27, 2015

We Windows Phone users are a rare breed. We are like the die hard fans that will forever root for the team that hasn’t had a winning season in 20 years.   It is a sound I know all too well. The sound of a chainsaw revving up. Sometimes it is a distant sound that makes you check your corners and do a 360 scan of your surroundings. Other times, it sounds as if it was right behind you and it makes you experience a brief moment of panic and paranoia. This is one of the many reasons I enjoyed Gears…

Gryphon Knight Epic- Infuriating and FUN

August 25, 2015

Anger, hate, rage. Three emotions that were constantly flashing through my mind while playing this game. Happiness was also present, but only when I finally killed some crocodile creature that kept HITTING ME WITH SPEARS! Swarms of mosquitos kept coming in waves, their sole purpose: to slowly kill and enrage you, mocking you with their oh-so-sweet thwap against Sir Oliver, hurting him, maiming him with each hit. Also, once you hit the water you…

Building a Tribe

Author: Eugene Shenderov First of all, what is a tribe, and how do you ‘build’ one? A tribe is a group of people who all like… something. They can be really passionate about those shoes with toes, or WW II British army uniforms, or vintage 18th century engines. It is a group of people with a similar interest who are all doing their own thing, but it is a shared…

March 16, 2015

Global manufacturing is migrating away from China, and closer to your customers We are living in an era of the beginnings of a massive sea-change. On the one hand, it is widely recognized that we are in the middle of a renaissance, or a ‘golden age’ of tabletop board games.
